The NSW 19/U Team have had a dream run at the 2009 National Netball Championships going through the tournament undefeated with a 39-30 victory over Queensland in the Grand Final.

Adding to an incredible week of on-court performances Natarlia Manning  was named the Championship MVP and six players (Nicola Gray, Kellyann Grayson, Alison Lovat, Samantha Poolman, Verity Simmons and Natarlia Manning) were named in the Australian 19/U Squad.

Entering the championship as the reigning title holders, the NSW 19/U Team didn’t skip a beat winning their way through to the Grand Final on the back of an impressive five goal victory over South Australia in the semi-final.

Going head to head with Queensland in the Grand Final, NSW led the match at every change, producing a dominant four-quarter display to restrict Queensland to 13 goals in the first half and 17 goals in the second half.

NSW coach Moira Gaha was overjoyed with her team’s performance over the six days of competition.

“We worked so hard to get to the Grand Final and built throughout the entire tournament. Our defence has been strong, our centre court was tremendous and our shooters have been rock solid all week,” Gaha said.
