The best netball talent in NSW will be on show on Wednesday night (July 31) with the two NSW Australian Netball League teams taking the court at Anne Clark Centre for a home derby.
The Netball NSW Blues will make their first appearance on their home court in the 2013 ANL in Wednesday night’s game against the Netball NSW Waratahs.
The NNSW Blues come into the game with one win and two losses from their triple-header in Week 2 and will be fresh from a rest with the bye in Week 3.
In the lead up to the derby, NNSW Blues Head Coach Moira Gaha said the team would build on what they had done well in their opening matches.
“Our patience, trust and letting the ball go are really important,” Gaha said.
“We look at [the derby] as a great opportunity, the opportunity to test ourselves against these quality players and for the girls to show what they are capable of and show why they have been chosen to represent us in the NNSW Blues.”
It will be the third game in Week 4 action for the NNSW Waratahs who split their weekend road trip to South Australia with a one-goal loss to Southern Force and nine-goal victory over Tassie Spirit.
NNSW Waratahs Head Coach Sue Hawkins said her team would be aiming to get off to another good start, after turning around a 5-15 first quarter on Saturday against Force to a 17-11 start against Tassie Spirit on Sunday.
“We looked at our warm up, our preparation, our team energy and we’ll certainly be looking at that for Wednesday night against the NNSW Blues,” Hawkins said.
Doors open at 6:00pm on Wednesday for a 7:00pm first centre pass.
