The 2016 Waratah side will return the title and shield to NSW for the first time in four years, after their last 21/U championship victory in 2012.

Maria Lynch could not be more pleased with her side after what has been a determined and focussed campaign by the Waratahs.

“The match was just awesome…they (VIC) threw absolutely everything at us and I am so proud of how we responded.  Our defense today was incredible and I mean, every area of the court.  Our circle defences, the defence outside and then all the way down the court … we really worked hard”, said a jubilant Maria post game.

“I am so very pleased with how we played – our aerial style, our attack on the line of the ball…it was fabulous”.

“The whole campaign has been great.  Not only our defence… but in attack too – and our shooters have finished off really well in games and we have had good (shooting) numbers across the week”.

“This is a wonderful feeling for the team and for NSW.”
