New international role for Sharon Kelly

Netball NSW would like to congratulate Umpire Coach Sharon Kelly on her latest appointment by the International Netball Federation to the International Umpires’ Award Testing Panel.

The news comes after the INF completed a review of the IUA Testing Panel (ITP) procedures.

The ITP is in place, for the testing of umpires for the IUA and the coaching of elite umpires. ITP Cadets, with the support of the ITPs, are also involved in identifying and training elite umpires and this role provides a succession process and pool of candidates for future ITP members.

Kelly has been appointed to the voluntary role for a period of three years. Michelle Phippard has also been appointed for as an ITP Cadet for a term of two years.

INF International Umpiring Manager Christina Davidson said: “This is a really important activity to complete for international umpiring and the INF is pleased to be working with those appointed in this role to set world class standards in
international officiating.”
