Netball NSW is delighted to announce that five of the organisation’s officials have appointed to preside over the Commonwealth Games Netball Competition on the Gold Coast in various technical official roles.
NSW Umpires Michelle Phippard and Helen George have been appointed to officiate games at the tournament, which starts in April next year, while Netball NSW Board Member Ruth Havrlant has been appointed as a Bench Manager with Timers Patricia Mann and Yvonne Richardson also called upon.
The Commonwealth Games are one of the pinnacles of the international game and Netball NSW is extremely proud of its officials who have been appointed to officiate at the international sporting event
“At Netball NSW we are really lucky with the calibre of officials have at our disposal,” General Manager of Sport Development, Nikki Horton, said.
“Without having such fantastic people officiating the game on the sidelines our players, teams and coaches couldn’t exceed the way they do and these invitations are testament to their skills and work ethic.
“International sport should always be the pinnacle in all codes and to have Netball NSW representatives on the wonderful stage that is the Commonwealth Games is something we are very proud of.”
The Commonwealth Games Netball preliminary round matches which will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from 5-12 April 2018, before culminating in the finals matches at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre on 14-15 April.
