2013 Champions crowned at Hunter State League

As Associations prepare to begin their winter competitions over the next few weeks, the Hunter State League tournament has wrapped up over the weekend with six teams crowned 2013 Champions.

Charlestown Netball Association were the big winners, taking home Divisions One, Three and Five titles, while Newcastle finished with two Champions titles (Divisions Four and Six) and finishing Runners Up in Division One.

Played in bright and sunny conditions on Sunday 24 March, all six divisions played out their finals in front of spectators at Newcastle Netball Association.  After playing modified matches during the round-robin stage of the tournament, finalists took the court for full, four 15 minute games during the finals.

Semi Finals were played at 9.00am, before the winners of each went through to play-off in the Grand Final played at 11.20am. The following six teams were crowned 2013 Champions.

With Hunter State League done for another year, there is still plenty of netball to be seen and played in the region for the rest of 2013.  Schools Cup Local Days will be held during May and June, as well as School Holiday Clinics in July, plus coaches and umpires courses throughout the year.
