Aussies Ready for Second Leg in NZ

NSW Swifts Susan Pratley and Mo’onia Gerrard are in New Zealand with their Australian Diamonds teammates primed for the second leg of the 2012 Holden Netball Quad Series, which kicks off tonight against South Africa at TSB Bank Arena in Wellington.

Diamonds coach Lisa Alexander named her 12-player team on Wednesday with Natalie von Bertouch the only player to miss selection, while both NSW junior Chelsea Pitman and Caitlin Thwaites have been recalled into the team.

With von Bertouch sitting out tonight’s match recovering from an ankle injury Catherine Cox will step up to take the captain’s reins for the Diamonds; this follows her recent successful captaincy of the 2011 Holden Netball Test Series when von Bertouch was not available due to a knee injury.

Sadly, NSW Swifts midcouter Kimberlee Green also be missing the rest of the international series with a recurring foot injury, however she will be watching closely as she provides special commentary to the BigPond Sport TV coverage for Sunday’s fixture.

Netball fans can catch all the action as it happens with FOX SPORTS and BigPond Sport TV¹ broadcasting the matches LIVE.

Check out the Foxtel TV Guide online or Telstra BigPond Sport TV Schedule online.  Tonight’s match will be broadcast live on FOX SPORTS 1 (Ch 501) with coverage from 4.00pm AEDT.

Along with FOX SPORTS and Telstra, the 2012 Quad Series will also be brought to you live via ABC Grandstand Digital Radio. Tune your digital radio² to ABC Netball on Sunday as Dan Lonergan and Anne Sargeant call the game.
