And just like that, we’ve come to the end of the regular season of the 2018 DOOLEYS Metro League. In all, 18 rounds have been completed and now we look ahead to the Semi Finals this week, with Division 3 & 4 playing tonight, Division 5 & 6 playing tomorrow night, and Division 1 & 2 playing Thursday night.

Here’s a wrap up of the teams who have made the finals across all six divisions (see overview below).

The calibre of the Division 1 teams are so evenly matched that the top four teams going through to finals are all on 18 points, with only goal percentage separating them. On top of the ladder is Randwick (Minor Premiers), then Hills District, Northern Suburbs and Illawarra District. The Semi Finals are going to be two thrilling matches to watch!

It will be a battle between first-placed Manly-Warringah and second-placed Inner Western Suburbs in the Semis this week, as both teams are on equal points. Campbelltown District (third) will be taking on Central Coast, with the losing team knocked out of the competition.

Inner Western Suburbs (first) and Randwick (second) will be facing off against each other in the Semi Finals, with both teams on equal points. St George District finished the regular season in third place, and they will take on Manly-Warringah tonight for a chance at the Preliminary Finals.

Ladder leaders (and Minor Premiers) Hawkesbury City and second-placed Hills District will be up against each other, but with both teams having only lost two games this whole season, it will be a tight contest. Illawarra District (third) and Ku-ring-gai (fourth) both won their Round 18 games, securing them a place in the do-or-die Semi Final match.

Liverpool City have dominated the Division 5 competition, winning every single game this season, earning them the title of Minor Premiers. They’re six points clear of Hills District (second), and Ku-ring-gai (third) and Parramatta Auburn (fourth) will verse each other in the second Semi Final of the competition.

Minor Premiers Illawarra District finished the regular season with a four-point lead over second-placed Inner Western Suburbs, only losing one match over 18 games. Baulkham Hills Shire (third) are eight points clear of Hills District (fourth), but they’ll be putting up a tough fight to win the Semi Finals.
