NSW Swift Mo’onia Gerrard will be encouraging schoolgirls to Get Active on Thursday 15 November in Bourke as part of the Womensport NSW Girls Get Active Gala Day.
An initiative designed to encourage schoolgirls to participate in sport, a number of activities are planned for the day giving school-aged children a chance to try out different sports from netball to cricket.
Gerrard will joined by personalities from a number of sports including softball, soccer, rugby league and union, talking to the participants as well as giving them a hand at the clinic-style activities.
Schoolgirls from Bourke and surrounding regions will be divided into seven groups as they participate in a number of activities.
Following the games Gerrard and the other athletes will be visiting Primary Schools in the region to talk about how sport has benefited their lives and encouraging the kids to get involved.
