The Netball NSW State Championships – Masters for 2016 have ended after a fantastic weekend of action at Netball Central on 21-22 May.
It was a wonderful two days for all 159 athletes on court, especially Manly Warringah and Gosford who won the two titles on offer.
Manly Warringah took out the Over 35s Division, ahead of runners-up Baulkham Hills, while Gosford were winners in the Over 40s Division, ahead of Wyong.
Netball NSW Board Members Rodney Watson and Carol Murphy were on hand to present the winning teams with their trophies, as well as patches to players from both the winners and runners-up in the two Divisions.
Over the course of the weekend total of 220 participants – players, umpires and organisers – took part to make the tournament a resounding success.
‘’On behalf of Netball NSW I would like to congratulate and thank each Association that took part to compete at the 2016 State Championships – Masters and for becoming the inaugural group to compete at Netball Central,’’ Kath Tetley, GM Marketing, Events and Communications at Netball NSW, said.
‘’We congratulate you on the 105 games played, over 4,074 goals shot and the 2,730 minutes of netball which were a chance to have a laugh with old friends and a chance to make new ones.
‘’For your passion and your competition we say thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon courtside.’’
