Those who attended the NSW Swifts home game against the Melbourne Vixens on Sunday 12 May, will have noticed the progress on the Netball Central building site.
Main areas of achievement over the past month include; services diversions, further soil testing and commencement of bulk excavations, palm trees transplantation and initial car park entrance works.
Within the coming weeks, the following is anticipated to be undertaken; completion of new car park entrance, stormwater redirections and stage 1 of forecourt works.
In the past fortnight, ASF Horner has been appointed as the flooring suppliers for the courts, with a PR2 flooring system to be installed using American maple timber.
The NSW Government has invested $27 million into this state-of-the-art netball centre of excellence at Sydney Olympic Park. Once complete, this facility will house;
- Headquarters for Netball NSW
- 6 new state-of-the-art timber sprung floor courts including a netball “show court” with seating for approximately 800 people
- meeting/function rooms
- rehabilitation, physiotherapy and recovery facilities
- player change rooms; and
- the Netball NSW Hall of Fame.
