Netball NSW appoints new GM – Stakeholder Relations

Netball NSW is pleased to confirm Lauren Woods will join the organisation as the new General Manager – Stakeholder Relations in April.

Woods joins Netball from Hockey NSW where she has spent the last six years, most recently as Member Engagement & Operations Manager.

An experienced manager, Woods have overseen a range of Association developments, including: Member Protection Policy, facility developments, policy and governance, member databases and Government grants.

It is the latter that Woods brings great value to Netball NSW, with a strong background in grant procurement as well as key relationships with the Office of Sport & Recreation over a number of years.

A key project has seen Woods recently lead a complete governance and policy overhaul project involving all 27 NSW Hockey Associations.

Netball NSW CEO Carolyn Campbell said Woods strong relationships and deliverables were a key factor in her appointment.

“Lauren joins Netball NSW as a well-respected individual within the NSW sporting community,” Campbell said.

“In my many dealings with her I have been impressed not only for her work ethic, but also her strong relationships with those in the grassroots community; having good relationships with our 118 Netball Associations across the State is key in this position.

“As a keen netballer Lauren is excited about joining the organisation, and I have no doubt will hit the ground running once she arrives.”

Woods will commence with Netball NSW on Monday 10 April, filling the vacant position left by outgoing Deputy CEO Megan Simpson who resigned from her position as General Manager – Strategy & Governance in January.
