Netball Australia, in conjunction with the ANZ Championship, can confirm that no athlete, team, or high performance staff member is implicated in the Australian Crime Commission’s (ACC) investigations.

“I was alarmed by the Australian Crime Commission report which outlined the relationship between professional sporting bodies, prohibited substances and organised crime,” Netball Australia’s CEO Kate Palmer said.

Netball Australia congratulates the Australian Government and agencies, including ACC and Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, for their swift action and commitment to protect the integrity of sport. Netball will fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies and any further investigations.

Netball Australia accepts that it is not immune and must remain vigilant in the fight against illicit drugs in sport, match-fixing and links to organised crime and will move to formalise and enhance the sport’s existing integrity provisions, including anti-doping, illicit drugs, match fixing and codes of conduct.
