The Australian Diamonds camp has today advised that NSW Swift midcourter Kimberlee Green will miss the remainder of the 2012 Holden Netball Quad Series due to an ongoing foot injury.
The decision was made in consultation with Diamonds medical staff after Kim played in three quarters of yesterday’s 20 goal victory over the New Zealand Silver Ferns at Allphones Arena.
Kim, who sits on 49 Test caps for the Diamonds, will remain in Australia after her injury prevented the midcourt star from taking any further part in the Diamonds’ international fixtures.
“We’re disappointed for Kim, she was having an outstanding game against the Silver Ferns yesterday but her welfare is paramount so we made the decision to rest her for the remainder of the international series,” head coach Lisa Alexander said.
The Australian Diamonds midcourt has been further injury concerns with captain Natalie von Bertouch to undergo scans on an Monday morning.
Captain von Bertouch will remain in Australia on Monday to have scans this morning after she rolled her left ankle in the first quarter against the Silver Ferns. The Adelaide midcourter is expected join her Diamonds team mates in Wellington on Tuesday.
Meanwhile the rest of the Diamonds squad travel to Wellington on this morning for the remaining three Tests of the Quad Series.
