At the Netball NSW 2014 Annual General Meeting, President Wendy Archer AM made a special presentation to Lynn Quinn OAM for her tireless work as a Board Member and her ongoing commitment to the organisation.
In addition to her long and distinguished service to Netball NSW, Lynn Quinn was recognised nationally in 2012 for her vast contribution to the sport of netball by being awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the Australia Day Honours List.
On making this presentation in front of her Council peers at DOOLEYS Lidcombe, Wendy Archer AM highlighted the unsighted behind-the-scenes work Lynn does on a daily basis, particularly during her time as a Board Member.
“Lynn has been a Member of the Netball NSW Board for a very long period of time in a range of capacities; Minute Secretary, Assistant Secretary and number of Board Sub-Committees,” said Wendy Archer AM.
“Her work on the Board has been invaluable. Lynn has never been afraid to challenge the thoughts and thinking of people, and always kept the Board honest. It’s that passionate approach to her position which is important as a Board Member and Lynn has excelled in this area.
“Her most recognisable and probably most valuable work to the organisation has been to the portfolio of Director of Championships and Competitions.
“Lynn’s extremely impressive CV and tremendous experience, particularly in the area of Bench and Officiating is unrivalled. She is a pioneer in this space and led the way across the country for making this aspect of our sport much more professional.
“The work that Lynn has done, and continues to do behind-the-scenes for Netball NSW is greatly appreciated by everyone, particularly the Board, and this recognition is richly deserved,” concluded Wendy Archer AM.
