Are you getting excited for the fourth instalment of Netball NSW’s most relaxed netball carnival?
The 2015 Oceania Netball Cup is a fun and relaxed carnival with the emphasis on having a good time with friends and enjoying netball – all with a distinct Polynesian flavour!
This year’s competition is being held on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 September, with registrations now open for teams in three age groups: U/13, U/15 and U/18. Click here to register.
Netball NSW is also excited to announce NSW Swifts co-Vice Captain Abbey McCulloch will be attending both days as this year’s special guest! Abbey will wander the courts supporting the teams, meeting participants… you may even see her with a whistle in hand!
A long-time NSW representative Abbey is competitive by nature; however the 25-year-old admits she’s looking forward to enjoying a more laid-back vibe at the Oceania Cup.
“I’ve heard great things about the Oceania Netball Cup, so I’m really excited to be involved in this year’s carnival,” Abbey stated.
“While the ANZ Championship is considered the best domestic netball competition in the world, netball is about enjoying yourself and having fun, and at the end of the day that’s what is most important.
“Oceania Cup reminds us that’s what sport is all about – having a good time with your mates. I’m excited to see the teams in action, meeting all the participants, and getting into the Polynesian flavour,” Abbey declared.
The 2014 carnival saw a record number of participants with 42 teams joining in the fun. Teams travelled from all over the State; from Barellan to Nowra… we even had some visitors from the Australian Capital Territory and Tonga!
Netball NSW encourages people of all abilities to come together and form teams to play – whether it’s with friends, school, Club or Association teammates.
Register today and secure your place in the 2015 Oceania Netball Cup, and join Abbey McCulloch for some laid-back fun this September.
