Sixty-nine up-and-coming NSW netballers learned from leading NSW coaches at the Talented Athlete Program (TAP) Camp at Sydney Academy of Sport in Narrabeen over the weekend.
The camp prepares young athletes to take the next step in representative netball.
The players participated in a range of practical and theoretical skill workshops from nutrition, injury prevention and self massage to time management, team strategies and decision making… and of course, on-court action with defence, attack, footwork and general ball skills sessions as well as match play.
The young athletes were in an elite environment all weekend, being put through their paces by NSW Swifts Head Coach Lisa Beehag, Assistant Coach Rob Wright, High Performance Coach Sue Hawkins, as well as 2012 NSW junior representative team Head Coaches Lenore Blades (17/U), Megan Simpson (19/U) and Maria Lynch (21/U), assisted by coaches from the NSW Regional Academies of Sport.
In addition to taking advantage of the education and development opportunities at the camp, the players got to have some fun as well:
