Netball NSW would like to offer our condolences to Manly Warringah Netball Association on the passing of Life Member Vera Wiltshire OAM.
Having first got involved with our sport through the Queenscliff Netball Club in the 1960s, Vera and her husband Les provided great service to netball across many decades. Vera held countless positions within Manly Warringah NA, serving on the Board as Junior Vice President (1980-1989) and Minute Secretary (1979), as well as a representative coach, selector and even on the canteen sub-committee.
Vera’s efforts did not go unnoticed, with the dedicated volunteer recognised with the Order of Australia Medal in 2013, the Beryl Gartner Outstanding Service to Coaching Award (2003), Outstanding Community Service Award (2002), Life Membership of Manly Warringah (1991), and was recognised with the Anne Clark BEM Service Award in 2002 – Netball NSW’s highest accolade for our dedicated volunteers.
Our thoughts are with the Wiltshire family, their friends and Manly Warringah Netball Association at this time.
