Netball NSW is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all Children that are involved in Netball. Our policies and procedures seek to address risks to child safety and to establish child safe culture and practices.
PlaySafe - coming in February 2026
New Integration: PlayHQ now integrates with Oho to create PlaySafe, enhancing child safety compliance.
Mandatory WWCC: All Non-Player registrations must include a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Exemptions:
Individuals under 18 years old
Club-only umpires
Automated Verification: Oho integration verifies WWCC directly with the NSW Office of Children’s Guardian, removing the manual burden from volunteers.
New Dashboard Feature:
A Child Safety tab will appear on your Association/Club dashboard.
WWCC status for volunteers will be visible in real time.
Under the Child Safe Scheme, certain child-related organisations in NSW must put into action the Child Safe Standards recommended by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse
Play by the Rules provides information, resources, tools and free online training to increase the capacity and capability of administrators, coaches, officials, players, parents and spectators to assist them in preventing and dealing with discrimination, harassment, child safety, inclusion and integrity issues in sport
