Netball NSW is the peak state sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout New South Wales and is affiliated to Netball Australia.

Netball NSW provides the framework for approximately 115,000 registered members and over 150,000 total participants to enjoy netball at all levels throughout New South Wales. Our sport continues to grow both on and off the court and much of this success can be attributed to the wide range of programs, facilities and services Netball NSW offers to its members and participants - from the grassroots level through to the elite, professional level.

Vacant Positions

Netball NSW is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates, subject to the exclusions set out in the Committee Terms of Reference, to contribute to the growth and success of netball in New South Wales in the capacity of Independent Chair of the Netball NSW Nominations Committee.

This role is established in accordance with Clause 14.5 of the Netball NSW Constitution and Clause 2.1 Terms of Reference – Nominations Committee. The Chair is responsible for overseeing the functions of the Nominations Committee, namely in identifying candidates to fill Director vacancies and assessing all nominations. The position ensures independent judgment guides the skills, competencies and experience required.

Key responsibilities include:

●     Supporting the selection of suitable candidates for Board vacancies

●     Identifying the appropriate mix of skills, expertise, gender and experience

●     Liaising with the President/Chair of Netball NSW and other stakeholders

●     Submitting reports to the Board following committee meetings

●     Attending Nominations Committee meetings and the Netball NSW Annual General Meeting

Selection criteria include:

●     Demonstrated experience at Board or professional level, with governance training

●     Understanding of director appointment processes and organisational governance

●     Experience on nomination committees or selection panels preferred

●     AICD qualification (desirable)

●     Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and independence

●     Strong communication and commercial insight

●     Experience in identifying suitable candidates, ideally within sport or member-based organisations

Eligibility requirements:
The Chair must be an independent person who is not:

●     A current or former Netball NSW Board Director

●     A current or former Netball NSW employee

●     An Office Bearer of any Affiliate, Interested or Community Member

The First Nations Programs Manager will lead the design and implementation of Netball NSW’s First Nations strategies, with a particular focus on increasing participation and representation of First Nations peoples in all areas and levels of netball in NSW. The role will lead the Netball NSW Reconciliation Action Plan, as well as facilitate the meetings and outcomes of the RAP working group and the Netball NSW Aboriginal Advisory Group. It will play a key role in creating and implementing community programs with direct impact on First Nations communities. 

This role ensures Netball NSW’s programs, competitions, and workforce pathways are inclusive, accessible, and culturally safe. It will involve close collaboration with internal teams, local communities, government stakeholders, and partner organisations to design sustainable, community-led programs that reflect Netball NSW’s strategic vision and meet First Nations community and funding obligations. 

About the role:
Development Officers play an integral role in the face-to-face delivery of school programs and community activations, helping Netball NSW to grow our presence in schools and encourage the next generation of netballers. Program delivery includes but is not limited to; School clinics, Sporting Schools programs, school holiday clinics, community programs and activations.
