SPORTING SCHOOLS

Netball NSW is encouraging NSW Schools to get involved in the Sporting Schools program! 

Sporting Schools is an initiative by the Australian Government, enabling schools across NSW to seek funding to implement Netball Programs for their students. These programs are adaptable to meet the unique needs of each school and its students. In addition to program delivery, Sporting Schools offers the opportunity to acquire equipment for program implementation.

 

The goal of Sporting Schools is to cultivate a lifelong passion for sports among children, promoting physical and mental well-being, and ensuring a fun and inclusive environment.

 

Sporting Schools offers grant opportunities for primary schools, and targeted grant opportunities for secondary schools in relation to Year 7 and 8 students. Grants support the delivery of sport-based programs to help students build the confidence and capability to be active for life.

The weekly program will be coordinated and coached by accredited Netball NSW Development Officers to ensure a quality experience for all participants.

CAN TEACHERS DELIVER?
Teachers are eligible to deliver the Sporting Schools Programs in their schools. Teachers must be an individual who is an employee of the School that has a valid State and/or Territory teacher registration.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Fun and inclusive for all participants, our Netball NSW Sporting Schools program fosters social interactive learning, development of motor skills and confidence through fun and games.

DURATION OF THE SESSIONS?

Sessions are generally based around a 45 to 60 minute session. Sporting Schools programs can be delivered at a time that suits your school either before or during school hours.

CAN I PURCHASE EQUIPMENT WITH MY SPORTING SCHOOLS FUNDING?

Yes, equipment can be purchased using Sporting Schools funding. High Schools can purchase a Fast5 Equipment Kit through the Sporting Schools portal, while all schools with funding are able to purchase equipment from external providers. We recommend purchasing equipment through HART Sport as they have a variety of options that will suit your schools needs.
