SPORTING SCHOOLS PROGRAM
Netball NSW is proudly the sole provider of Sporting Schools Netball Programs in NSW.
Netball NSW is encouraging NSW Schools to get involved in the exciting Sporting Schools program!
Sporting Schools aims to help children foster a lifelong interest in sport, all the while gaining a healthier mind and body and having fun in a safe, inclusive environment.
Netball Australia’s official NetSetGO program has been developed to provide children with the best possible learning and playing experience, with sessions catering for students of all year levels and abilities through skill development and game sense activities.
Net is for 5 to 6 year-olds. It’s all about picking up basic movement skills. Get ready to run a lot, catch a lot, and play a lot of ball games.
Set is for 7 to 8 year-olds. It’s a bit more netball-focused. You’ll play practice matches, learn to pivot and work on those lightning passes.
GO is for 9 to 10 year-olds. You’ll build on the fundamentals, play modified netball matches, and run some more advanced drills.
Fast5 offers secondary students the opportunity to play the game differently with only 5 positions on the court and rolling subs, shorter quarters and multiple scoring zones. Students will also develop skills in off-court roles of umpire, timekeeper and scorer. Get ready for netball re-imagined!
The weekly program will be coordinated and coached by accredited Netball NSW Development Officers to ensure a quality experience for all participants.
