Netball NSW encourages the growth and development of netball in schools, providing educational opportunities for teachers across both coaching and umpiring.

Foundation Coaching Course for Teachers

Netball NSW, in partnership with the Department of Education and Communities (DEC) School Sport Unit, are offering K-12 teachers in NSW an opportunity to participate in the nationally accredited Foundation Coaching Course.

The course focuses on the fundamentals of netball including warm up, umpiring, session programming as well as practically based skills, activities and basic netball strategy. This course will equip participants with enough skills and knowledge to confidently conduct successful Netball sessions in schools.

The DEC Course is registered professional development under the terms of the NSW Institute of Teachers Continuing Professional Development Policy. For teachers accredited at Professional Competence, completion of this course will contribute 5 hours towards Institute Registered professional development. The workshop addresses the following Professional Teaching Standards: 1.2.1, 3.2.4, 6.2.3.

Netball Australia Schools Resources

The Foundation Umpire Course has been designed to assist you in achieving the necessary skills and knowledge to be an effective umpire and enjoy your officiating role. The course contains five modules.
You will need your MyNetball ID and password to access. It is recommended to access the course with either the Firefox or Google Chrome web browser.

The KNEE program is an on court warm up program to help enhance movement of participants and work to reduce injuries. Check out some of the videos to help your students warm up properly therefore reducing the risk of having an injury.
