Netball NSW is proud to announce a new partnership with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia, creating exciting new opportunities for young people across the state to develop lifelong skills through their involvement in netball.
As an official Duke 4Sport partner, Netball NSW offers a wide range of activities that count toward the Physical Recreation, Skills, and Voluntary Service sections of the Award at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. Whether participants are athletes, umpires, coaches, or volunteers, they can now leverage their netball involvement to progress through their Award journey.
This collaboration is a natural fit for Netball NSW, aligning with our commitment to supporting the personal growth, leadership, and community engagement of young people in sport. Netball not only builds physical fitness but also encourages teamwork, communication, responsibility, and service – all of which reflect the values of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
"NSW Netball is delighted to partner with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award" says Executive General Manager Community Trish Crews.
"As an organisation committed to providing the NSW community with sporting leadership and partnership through netball education, training programs, and a broad range of competitions, we see this collaboration as an excellent opportunity to further develop young people in our sport"
"Together with the Award’s focus on teamwork, leadership, and service, we are dedicated to empowering the next generation of athletes to become not only skilled netball players but also strong leaders, creating an inclusive environment where young people can develop skills, strengthen their leadership potential, and help shape a better future for netball and beyond."
Netball NSW looks forward to seeing our netball community embrace this exciting opportunity and encourage all eligible participants to explore how their involvement can help them achieve their Duke of Ed goals.
