The Netball NSW SSN Elite Commercial Sub-Committee is responsible for providing strategic advice and recommendations to the NNSW Board regarding opportunities for NNSW Elite clubs, partner alignment for commercial success, and the oversight of the philanthropic/foundation arm of NNSW.
Further, we aim to ensure a more rigorous reporting process to the NNSW Board regarding high performance recruits/retentions, salary cap, elite player support and opportunities, and Government support grants.
We aim to further the success of NNSW elite teams by seeking alternate income streams and providing facilities and programs which assist our athletes to achieve.
The Board is now calling for Expressions of Interest from people who wish to be considered for three current vacancies on the committee.
The Committee shall comprise up to six (6) members, including:
- up to three members who are current Directors
- up to three other members who have the requisite skills required to assist the Committee in meeting its functions, duties and responsibilities, who may be drawn from the Board or the Company’s membership or who may be independent, external experts.
We are seeking two (2) Sub-Committee members who satisfy the requisite skills required to meet its functions, duties and responsibilities, including:
- relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in a professional or corporate role;
- a good understanding of sport assets, commercialising products, business strategy/planning and sales funnels;
- athlete experience: high performance, pathway;
- a sound knowledge of the sports industry and of the commercial operations of a professional club/team in particular; and and/or practical experience in establishing charity foundations, fundraising, patronage and the implementation of philanthropic strategies as diversified revenue streams
Committee members will be appointed for an initial term of twelve (12) months, with their appointment reviewed by the Board at the end of that period, or earlier, if circumstances dictate. Any casual vacancies that arise on the Committee may be filled by the Board.
