Coronavirus may have put a halt to face-to-face development earlier in the year, but that didn't mean a Netball NSW Umpire C Camp wouldn't take place in 2020.
Originally scheduled for March, the C Camp instead took centre stage at Netball Central in Sydney Olympic Park this month and was another resounding success.
In total 58 umpires - some coming from as far as Mudgee - attended the Camp which included both on and off court elements.
With many attendees looking to attain their National B Badges in the future, the topics covered were as follows:
- Progression and Pathways
- Positioning and Vision
- Procedures and Protocols
- Playing the ball
- Rules forum
"It was great to see so many enthusiastic umpires with lots of questions come along to the Camp," Netball NSW Technical Officials Manager, Chris Hall, said.
"Many of the participants have been waiting since March as COVID19 restrictions meant we had to delay the event but it's fantastic to see our officials looking to advance their roles in netball.
"There was a lot of learning for everyone involved and we look forward to having more Development Camps in the future as netball makes its comeback from what's been a very challenging 2020 for everyone."
