For the Sydney Netball Academy (SNA), 2020 started like any other year with fitness testing, skill development, meeting new friends and learning all about the SNA culture of passion, discipline and strive.
But as the global pandemic rolled around and COVID-19 restrictions hit, adaptability became the word of the season.
Coaches and athletes remained positive, stayed connected and had lots of fun via Zoom fitness sessions and through sharing videos. SNA athletes were also treated to a Q&A session with some of their Suncorp Super Netball heroes including NSW Swifts Maddy Proud, Sophie Garbin and Maddy Turner.
Over the last month of the program, it has been fabulous that SNA athletes have been able to get back on court led by Head Coach Pate Cooper. Pate, along with the team of SNA Coaches including James Mulcare, Steph Harrison, Sarah Bowen and Keira Nightingale have provided every SNA athlete with an amazing opportunity to grow both on and off the court.
Netball NSW along with the SNA athletes thanks these coaches for their commitment, passion and generosity.
Registrations for the 2021 SNA Trials are now closed with Phase 1 Trials commencing this weekend at Netball Central. Good luck to all those trialling.
