17U Round 5 | NSW 54 NT 21: The team from Northern Territory were determined opponents but strength across the entire NSW squad proved too much for the Territorians. Particularly impressive in this game were Nicola Barge who shone in both GS and GA. She put up a high volume of shots and her long reach and strong hands over were effective in defence. Jayla Dicker was a stand out in the midcourt, nailing her feed from circle edge and disrupting NT with intercepts.
19U Round 5 | NSW 41 ACT 16: ACT started the match with high intensity and at the end of the first quarter there was a narrow one-goal difference. Key players for ACT were NSW import athletes: from Stingrays and the QBE Swifts Academy defender Emma Smith and Sapphires middie Milla Papallo. Both athletes were outstanding in putting pressure on their home state. For NSW, Jamie Podmore Taylor and Charlotte Smith were instrumental in the team pulling away for a convincing win. Both athletes had strong and effective presence in defence shutting down everything that ACT threw at them and both worked hard in attack to offer safe options down the court.
Victoria is the Round 6 opponent for both on Friday. It’s going to be tough. Bring it on. Go NSW!
