It’s one the biggest community sports events in the whole of Australia and in 2023 the HART Junior State Titles took place at the Camden & District and Liverpool City Netball Associations from Saturday to Monday, 1-3 July.
The three-day tournament showcased the strength of grassroots netball with young players from all over the state coming together to play the game they love.
“Across both Camden and Liverpool, people travelled from far and wide… from Bondi to Ballina, Wagga Wagga to West Lakes each team arrived with a host of players, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters,” Tim Fava, Netball NSW Executive General Manager of Community & Pathways, said.
“Every one of them is a vital stakeholder in a netball ecosystem that has empowered communities across NSW for almost 100 years.
“The sheer scale of Junior State Titles is unrivalled in NSW community sport and huge credit must go to the dedicated volunteers at both Associations in Camden and Liverpool, as well as the team at Netball NSW for another brilliant showcase of our game this year.
“It’s important to note that while many of NSW’s greatest players started their journeys at the Junior State Titles, such as Paige Hadley and Amy Parmenter, what was most important at in 2023 was the enjoyment of the game.
“Netball proudly leads the way as Australia’s greatest pioneer and leader of high-performance sport for women, but the Junior State Titles are not about that. The three days offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for participants to make new friends for life.
“It was about the positive vibes shared together.
“While you can play hard and fair, it’s important to remember that netball at community level is much more than what takes place on court; it is about bonds you can create with new people.”
Netball NSW would like to thank HART Sport, naming rights partner of the Junior State Titles, for their continued support.
