More children across regional New South Wales will now have the opportunity to experience confidence and connection through netball, thanks to the continued support of the Confident Girls Foundation and its funding collaboration with Unilever x Woolworths.
Netball NSW is proud to announce it has received further funding through the Confident Girls Foundation x Unilever x Woolworths Grants Program to deliver four new Woolworths NetSetGO programs in regional communities across NSW in the months ahead.
The funding will enable Netball NSW to deliver a free eight-week Woolworths NetSetGO program in each community, providing children with free registration, local Associations with equipment and program resources, and coaches with training and development opportunities. By investing in local capability, the initiative is designed to ensure Woolworths NetSetGO can continue to thrive in each region long after the initial program concludes.
The funding builds on the growing partnership between the Netball NSW Foundation and the Confident Girls Foundation, united by a shared commitment to ensuring children have the opportunity to participate in sport, regardless of where they live or the barriers they may face.
Netball NSW Foundation Head, Janyne Hogan, said the investment demonstrates the extraordinary impact that can be achieved when organisations come together with a shared purpose.
Established to harness the power of netball to create more connected communities, the Netball NSW Foundation works to remove barriers to participation and ensure everyone has the opportunity to belong, grow and thrive through the game.
"We're incredibly grateful to the Confident Girls Foundation, Unilever and Woolworths for their support of grassroots netball.
Powerful collaborations like this enable meaningful change. Together, we removing barriers are ensuring more children, regardless of postcode, have the opportunity to step onto a court, build confidence, create lifelong friendships and discover where they belong through their experience with netball.
For many regional families, access to organised sport can be limited by distance, cost or opportunity. This investment means more children will have the chance to pull on a bib, learn new skills, make lifelong friendships and experience everything that makes our game so special. Just as importantly, by investing in local coaches and Associations, we're creating opportunities that will continue to benefit communities well into the future."
Woolworths NetSetGO is Netball Australia's leading introductory participation program for children aged 5–10 years. Through fun, inclusive and engaging activities, the program develops fundamental movement skills while fostering confidence, teamwork and a lifelong love of physical activity.
Brooklyn Fraser, Head of the Confident Girls Foundation, said supporting children through sport continues to be at the heart of the Confident Girls Foundation's mission.
"We know the powerful role sport plays in helping children build confidence, resilience and meaningful connections. Through the support of Unilever and Woolworths, we're proud to continue partnering with the Netball NSW Foundation to help more children in regional communities experience these benefits.
"When organisations come together with a shared purpose, we can create opportunities that have a lasting impact—not only for individual children, but for families and entire communities."
Netball NSW extends its sincere thanks to the Confident Girls Foundation x Unilever x Woolworths for making these regional initiatives possible.
The four new programs will be delivered in Warren, Blayney, Tenterfield and Glen Innes, commencing from August 2026 onwards.
