This National Volunteer Week, we’re shining a spotlight on two inspiring young changemakers from the Central Coast - Mia and Carmen Smit, twin sisters who are living proof of the power of youth volunteering.
As achievers in The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award – a global leader in the organising and accrediting of non-formal education for young Australians aged 14–24, Mia and Carmen have committed substantial time and effort to Gosford Netball Association Inc. Through their involvement, they’ve actively contributed across the Voluntary Service, Skills, and Physical Recreation Sections of the Duke of Ed, completing their Bronze Level earlier in the year.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award plays a vital role in allowing young Australians to explore their potential, build life skills, and grow through experience.
Their dedication not only fostered personal growth, resilience, and leadership but also significantly strengthened their local netball community.
During National Volunteer Week, we extend our heartfelt THANK YOU to all our volunteers who generously give their time to support and uplift the sport of netball.
