Director Michelle Champ has been reappointed to the Board of Netball NSW on a further two-year term.
A highly experienced financial executive with a background in strategy and leadership across a diverse range of organisations and industries worldwide, she first joined the Board of Directors in 2021 and is the incumbent Chair of the Audit & Risk Board Sub-Committee.
The current Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Affairs at HireUp, Michelle was previously Company Secretary of the Greengate Group while she also held executive finance roles at Bauer Media and ACP Magazines.
A Member of the Northern Suburbs Netball Association, Michelle said she was honoured to serve for another term.
“It has been a pleasure to work for a game that means so much to me on a personal level, and to see the continued growth and success of netball only drives my ambition for it,” she said.
“Last year Netball NSW achieved record revenue for its professional Clubs, the Swifts and Giants, while the consistently strong participation numbers – despite huge competition – demonstrates we are going in the right direction across the board.
“I would like to thank my fellow Directors, most notably Chair Sallianne Faulkner and CEO Tracey Scott, for their support as well as the staff at Netball NSW who do sterling work.
“We’ve achieved a lot but there is plenty to be done and I can’t wait for the next evolution of the game in NSW.”
Sallianne congratulated Champ on her reappointment.
“Michelle has been a wonderful addition to the Board since she first joined and has a deep understanding of our business and where we need to focus.
“While she brings a wealth of experience when it comes to robust and sustainable financial strategy, she also knows what the netball community needs and that connection is vital.
“Michelle is mentoring the important Risk framework within Netball NSW, building strengths into our processes, I am pleased she will be continuing to lead this work.
“I am very much looking forward to working with Michelle again as we continue to strengthen the strong foundations of netball in this state and expand its reach even further.”
