This week sees Court Craft Summer Series head into its finals two rounds, still with everything to play for across all 6 divisions.
Division 6
As we come through to the end of round 7, we have a tight top end of the ladder with Wyong District and Northern Suburbs sitting first and second respectively. With some games coming down to a point between them, the season has been a constant stream of exciting games. We have a couple of teams hailing to us from the central and south coasts, mixing it in with the usual metro crowd and the girls from the coastlines know how to play. Our final round of the season will see the 2 current ladder leaders in Wyong and Northern Suburbs take on each other, will this be the round that all is decided or can someone else knock them off the perch?
Division 5
Division 5 is no stranger to the tight ladder, with the top 3 positions being separated by only 1 loss! Sutherland is currently on top with 12 points, followed closely by St George and Eastwood Ryde, with both of their only losses of the season coming from the girls at Sutherland. Round 8 will see St George taking on Eastwood Ryde in a game which is surely not one to miss, will this be the game to decide who sits in 2nd place coming into the final rounds of the season? Will Sutherland suffer a loss in their run home? Be sure to come down to Netball Central on Tuesday nights to catch all the action!
Division 4
Our top division for a Tuesday night is the almighty Division 4. Being one of our first divisions to bring us into the realm of a drawn game this season, they too hold one of our tightest ladders across the series. With first being on 13 points and second and third both sitting on 10 points, this really is a ladder where anything could happen on the run home. Baulkham Hills Shire are our current ladder leaders with their only fault of the season coming in the form of a draw to the current third place team in Manly Warringah, with Blue Mountains sitting in the middle of the two in second place – however, the draw does not give us a game between Manly and Blue Mountains in our final 3 rounds of the season, so it really will be a matter who stays on top to take out the Division 4 championship for 2024.
Division 3
Division 3 gives us another hotly contested top end of the ladder, with the only current stand out being our ladder leaders in Randwick. The next 2 spots on the ladder sit on 10 points with 5 wins and 2 losses each and all teams very tight on goal percentage, so it really could be anyones game! Between Nothern Suburbs, Camden & District, Ku-Ring-Gai and Baulkham Hills, the only match up we see is in Round 8 with Northern Suburbs coming up against Ku-Ring-Gai, however the ladder leaders in Randwick will come up against 2 of the 4 sides, so will this be the sword in the stone that decides how our ladder looks come round 9. These will be some interesting and exciting 2 rounds of Netball coming up – be sure not to miss this!
Division 2
The penultimate division for summer series has the top of the ladder looking like Inner West in first, followed closely by Northern Suburbs, Blacktown City and Baulkham Hills Shire all on the same points. However, the final 2 rounds will not see Inner West or Blacktown take on each other, or the teams hot on their tail so how this plays out is really down to wins and losses which will be sure to have everyone keeping their eye on the results each week. Can anyone upset Inner West and can anyone creep into that second place position. In these short season competitions, it really can be anyones game!
Division 1
The final division for our review looks at the series front runners in Division 1. Once again, the team from the east in Randwick are our ladder leaders on 14 points, followed by Hills District on 10 points and then Sutherland, Baulkham Hills and Blacktown all following closely on 10 points. Randwick however does not have a dream run home, coming up against both Hills District and Randwick to complete their season. If they win against Hills, that should surely cement their spot on top of the table for 2024, but can Hills cause an upset and make Randwick work for their spot? Be sure to be at Netball Central on Thursday nights to watch how this story plays out!
Divisions 4,5 and 6 play on Tuesday nights with Divisions 1, 2 & 3 on Thursday nights all at Netball Central.
