The Netball NSW Men’s Metro League returns tonight for its fourth and biggest season yet, showcasing the fast-paced, high-impact athleticism of elite men’s netball.
The 2025 season brings more teams, more talent and more intensity to the court, with associations represented and two divisions now in place—highlighting the growth of men’s netball across metropolitan Sydney.
From Campbelltown to Ku-ring-gai, Liverpool City to Penrith District, teams will battle it out every Wednesday night through to the Grand Final on 26 November.
Reigning Division 1 champions, Eastwood Ryde will be looking to defend their title against teams stacked with elite athletes, including a strong contingent of Australian Kelpies and NSW Men’s Open Nationals players such as Stephen Brice, Martyn Blundell, Jack Vandervelde, Liam Forcadilla, Joe Miller, Dylan Nexhip, and Victor Nikolic—to name just a few.
The competition offers fans the rare chance to see some of the country’s most exciting male netballers up close, all for just $8.50 entry.
Among those taking the court is Dylan Nexhip, decorated international defender and Assistant Coach of the NSW Swifts’ 2025 Suncorp Super Netball campaign. He says fans can expect something unique from the men’s game:
“Men’s netball is a true spectacle. The aerial game, the ball speed and the physical nature of the contest makes it a superb watch for any netball lover. The evolution of the men’s game over the years has allowed for the increased development and application of the technical and tactical component of the sport. Netball is a game for all, and Men’s Metro League is the premier men’s league in NSW that showcases this.”
With over a dozen current or former Kelpies suiting up this season, Men’s Metro League has fast become a breeding ground for future stars and a showcase of national-level ability.
The growth of the men’s game extends beyond the elite, with more males than ever before getting involved at grassroots level. As the Netball NSW Spring Season approaches, registrations are booming in mixed and social competitions, with male participation doubling year-on-year.
Spectators are encouraged to head to Netball Central every Wednesday night to cheer on their teams and witness the future of the men’s game in action.
