The first squad selections for the the 2021 Netball NSW Regional State Cup have been announced.
The Regional State Cup, which will be held at Netball Central from October 2-3 this year, sees selected teams from regions 2-8 (regions excluding metro) represent their local area.
The best athletes, aged 16-22, will compete against each other to determine the winning region.
The competition promises to be a weekend tough competition and also provides the perfect opportunity for the state's most exciting regional talent to showcase their skills, athleticism and tenacity.
NSW has a proud history of regional athletes making it all the way to the top. Diamond #141 Susan Pettitt (Swifts & GIANTS) hailed from Bega, Diamond #128 Alison Broadbent (Swifts) was from Gosford and Diamond #125 Megan Anderson (Swifts) played for Woy Woy as a junior.
The vision for the competition is that it evolves to provide similar performance opportunities for regional athletes, coaches, umpires and officials as the Netball NSW Premier League 23U competition currently provides in metro areas.
Selections have taken place at Hart Regional League competitions and with four regions now concluded, Netball NSW would like to congratulate the following athletes, umpires, coaches and support staff from the Hunter, West Central West, South Coast and Riverina:
