Netball NSW is delighted to announce that Foot Locker has come on board to collaborate with the State’s next generation of elite talent in the Waratahs Academy.
The collaboration will see Foot Locker provide members of the team, with some recently competing in the the Australian National Championships in ACT, with Nike Sabrina 2 shoes which are named after pioneering female basketball star Sabrina Ionescu.
The Waratah Academy is for nationally ID’d athletes who were selected to represent NSW at the National Underage Championships earlier this year.
The goal of this collaboration is to provide exposure to emerging and pathways talent, who will tell their story in their own unique way with the help of Foot Locker.
Kara Atkinson, General Manager – New Partners at Netball NSW, said it was wonderful to have one of sports most trusted brands get behind the Waratahs.
“You cannot be what you can’t see and this collaboration between our Waratahs and Foot Locker highlighting the iconic Nike Sabrina 2 shoe is really exciting,” she said.
“Netball has the finest female role models in Australian sport and has done for almost a century. Each of these athletes is incredibly hard-working and talented, which you have to be given the amount of competition they face for pathway spots.
“What is unique about the Nike Sabrina 2 shoe is that it operates as both performance footwear, but is also just as great as a lifestyle fit.
“This collaboration gives our next generation of players a chance to experience what it is like in the limelight of professional sport, but also the chance to tell their own story with the help of an iconic brand.”
Excitingly as part of the collaboration, Foot Locker will also be providing the NSW netball community with a discount code which can be redeemed by registered participants at their stores or online, just in time for a busy spring season, rep and metro selections.
Deeka Low, Senior Manager, Marketing at Foot Locker Asia Pacific, said they are proud to support the Waratahs and the broader netball community.
“Netball is one of the most loved sports in Australia and the volume of people playing the game in the community is a testament to this.
“It has always produced amazing role models and we know that making it to the top requires a huge amount of natural talent, and a dedication to match that.
“But what we love most is the personality of these young athletes who have their own unique stories and we are excited to help tell them.”
