With the HART Senior State Titles this weekend, Netball NSW is proud to recognise one of our sport’s most enduring contributors – Kaye Sweeney, whose commitment to the State Titles and regional netball has spanned more than four decades.
Kaye Sweeney at the 2025 HART State TitlesKaye’s involvement in the Senior State Titles dates back to the late 1970s, when she first took the court as a Tamworth Opens player. Since then, she’s been a constant presence across generations of competition – returning year after year as a player, coach, manager, and team official. From Newcastle to Campbelltown, Camden to Maitland, Kaye has helped lead Tamworth teams across the state, supporting athletes with knowledge, heart, and a deep passion for the game.

Her ability to bring teams together, lift confidence, and mentor athletes through the highs and lows of competitive netball is what makes her such a respected figure at State Titles.
In recent years alone, she’s served as Opens Team Manager, Coach or Assistant Coach of 15s and 17s teams, and Regional League coach, guiding Tamworth squads to finals appearances and division wins. Her leadership extends well beyond game day, offering unwavering support throughout selection, training, travel, and tournament play.
While Kaye’s broader service to netball – including her Life Membership of Tamworth Netball Association and volunteer work at major events like the Netball World Cup and Commonwealth Games is extraordinary, it’s her dedication to the Senior State Titles that stands as a shining example of what makes this event so special. Her decades of contribution reflect not only a love for the game but a belief in its power to connect and uplift regional communities.
We say thank you to Kaye Sweeney and all other dedicated individuals who make the HART Senior State Titles possible each year. The coaches, managers, umpires, volunteers, and supporters who give their time, passion, and care to help our athletes thrive and our netball community grow.
