The GIANTS are proud to unveil their 2026 First Nations Dress, a striking new design that will be worn during the league's dedicated First Nations celebrations in rounds 11 and 12.
The dress will make its on-court debut this Saturday at Ken Rosewall Arena, when the GIANTS welcome the Adelaide Thunderbirds. The team will wear the dress again in Round 12 when they travel north to face the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
Designed for the ninth consecutive year by proud Gamilaroi woman Krystal Dallinger-Simpson, the 2026 dress explores the idea that life’s journey is rarely linear. Inspired by the many conversations she has had with people from all walks of life, Dallinger- Simpson set out to capture the “organised chaos” that shapes every path.
Throughout the design, pops of colour acknowledge the diverse backgrounds, stories and sacrifices that shape each person’s journey.
At the heart of the artwork are three yellow symbols, a subtle nod to the constant trio in Dallinger-Simpson’s own life: her mum, her brother and herself. Their presence reflects the people who steady us, support us, and walk beside us, no matter where we come from.
The dress also features red meeting place symbols, intentionally drawn with a sense of messiness and movement. Rather than the neat, structured form often seen in traditional iconography, these symbols acknowledge that life can be unpredictable, tangled, and full of twists.
Blue sections flow across the dress to represent water, a reminder that communities across the country are connected through waterways, culture, and shared experience.
One of the most distinctive elements of the artwork is the deliberate absence of straight lines. Every curve and bend reflects the reality that progress is rarely simple. As Dallinger-Simpson explains, the design is grounded in that truth.
“There’s never a straight road to your goals,” she said.
“I wanted to represent the organised chaos that is life.
“Nothing in the real world is ever straightforward,” she added.
“Working hard and navigating your way through life will always come with twists and turns.”
The GIANTS extend their sincere thanks to Krystal Dallinger-Simpson and the team at Valour Sport for bringing this design to life.
