The pathway to elite netball is illuminated by Netball QBE NSW’s Swifts Reserves and GIANTS Netball Reserves teams, who are gearing up to compete in this weekend’s Super Netball Reserves Finals at Melbourne’s Waverley Netball Centre from June 20 to 22.
As the state’s premier representatives in this national development competition, the Swifts and Giants Reserves are pivotal to NSW’s elite netball landscape. These teams showcase the best emerging talent from the region, ready to challenge themselves against top-tier opposition and edge closer to Suncorp Super Netball selection.
Introduced in 2024, the Super Netball Reserves competition serves as a high-performance platform designed to accelerate the growth of rising stars — including training partners, standout state league performers, and emerging athletes. This weekend’s Finals present a critical opportunity for NSW’s elite athletes to demonstrate their readiness on the national stage.
The 2025 Finals Weekend brings together all Super Netball-affiliated and state-based teams, with three sessions of elite netball over three days. The inclusion of invited teams from Tasmania, the ACT, and the Northern Territory as part of a broader ‘Play-In Tournament’ further intensifies the competition and talent exposure.
The Swifts Reserves open their Finals campaign against the ACT at 3:30PM today in a highly anticipated clash, with the Giants Reserves following shortly after to face the Northern Territory at 5:15PM. Saturday’s schedule sees the Swifts competing in the third-place playoff at 3:30PM, while the Giants take on Tasmania at 5:15PM in a game crucial to final standings ahead of Sunday’s decider.
