The 2025 Hyundai Community Netball Raffle has wrapped up in winning style, with Robert Serplet from Illawarra District Netball Association taking home the top prize — a brand new Hyundai Tucson N Line Hybrid valued at $49,093.
When Serplet received the call with the good news, disbelief quickly turned into delight.
“No we have not – No way – I have? Thank you so much, thank you so much. That is great!
“We just sold my wife’s Tucson and she regrets it so much. And we saw that car at a gala day and she said to me ‘can you win me that car back.’
Serplet purchased just $10 worth of tickets, supporting his local Illawarra District Netball Association.
Last night, Serplet received the keys to the car and drove his two daughters, one who plays netball for Woonona Netball Club, back to the Illawarra.
The raffle, proudly presented by Netball NSW and Hyundai Australia, saw 33,316 tickets sold across 3,345 transactions, raising vital funds for netball associations and clubs across New South Wales. The initiative supports the growth of grassroots netball, helping communities thrive both on and off the court.
Second prize went to Angela Cowan, who bought $200 worth of tickets supporting Hastings Valley Netball Association, winning five $200 HART Sport vouchers.
Third prize was awarded to Simone Morris from Hawkesbury City Netball Association, who will enjoy a GIANTS Netball Family Gold Pass and behind-the-scenes experience.
The Hyundai Community Netball Raffle forms part of Hyundai’s commitment to supporting community sport across New South Wales, ensuring funds raised go directly back to local netball associations and clubs.
“Hyundai’s partnership with GIANTS Netball and Netball NSW is about more than prizes – it’s about helping clubs grow, develop their people, and create opportunities for players, coaches and umpires at every level,” Stephanie Wilton, Netball NSW General Manager of Commercial said.
This year’s raffle attracted thousands of ticket buyers across the state, contributing to the ongoing success of one of the largest grassroots fundraising initiatives in the Netball NSW calendar.
