South West Mounties MAGIC continues to build something special in the IMB Bank Premier League, with 2026 marking the licensee’s third season and an exciting new chapter in its growth.
Jointly owned by Liverpool City Netball Association and Mounties Care, MAGIC has further strengthened its presence in the region by welcoming Bankstown City Netball Association as a Partner Association. This expansion reinforces the licensee’s commitment to creating stronger pathways and opportunities for athletes across Sydney’s South West.
At its core, MAGIC is driven by a clear purpose — to ignite a passion for netball, promote healthy lifestyles, and champion inclusivity. The club is deeply focused on fostering a connected, supportive environment where athletes and the wider community can thrive.
Their presence across the Liverpool and Bankstown communities remains strong, with players and staff regularly supporting training sessions, carnivals and State Titles, reinforcing meaningful connections at every level of the game.
One of the licensee’s most innovative initiatives is the newly launched MAGIC Mindset Lab, delivered in partnership with Allie Smith. The program is a first-of-its-kind within the Premier League, placing a strong emphasis on mindset and wellbeing. Designed to build confidence, emotional maturity and resilience, the initiative reflects MAGIC’s holistic approach to athlete development.
On court, MAGIC boasts an exciting blend of established performers and emerging stars. NSW Swifts Training Partners Nicola Barge and Courtney Castle continue to set the standard in the Opens program, while the return of Papi Alaalatoa from injury adds experience and determination. Rising talent Kelis Ogle is another name to watch, balancing elite representative commitments with her development within the GIANTS pathway.
The licensee’s strong connection to its community is evident, with several Opens athletes progressing through Liverpool City Netball Association’s ranks, a powerful reflection of the pathway MAGIC has built.
In the 23U space, a group including Helen Tietie, Giselle Taber, Tahlia Quinn and Hannah Ridley is primed to take the next step after gaining valuable Premier League experience in 2025. Tietie, in particular, enters the season with strong momentum following a standout year.
Adding further depth to the program, international netballer Jo Harten joins MAGIC in 2026 as a Technical Coach, bringing world-class experience and insight to the group.
Beyond netball, the personalities within the club add to its unique fabric, from Rachel Conway balancing life as a qualified doctor, to Elle Papali’i returning to the court as a new mum, and a host of multi-talented 23U athletes pursuing careers in teaching, music and even dog training.
With a strong foundation, growing community footprint and a balanced mix of experience and emerging talent, South West MAGIC enters the 2026 season with momentum, purpose and plenty to be excited about.
