Registrations are now open for the 2025 Koori Gala Days – a series of family-friendly community netball events that bring people together through culture, and connection.
Held across regional and metropolitan NSW, the Koori Gala Days provide a culturally safe, welcoming environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to enjoy netball and reconnect with friends. These Gala Days are also a key pathway to the First Nations Emerging Talent Camp, where selected athletes, coaches and umpires can further their development.
“These days are about so much more than just netball,” Executive General Manager of Community, Trish Crews said. “They create access and opportunity for any family to connect through their love of the game.”
As part of Netball NSW’s Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, the Koori Gala Days serve as a vital space for Indigenous-led participation and talent identification.
“Last year we had over 20 teams at Mount Druitt alone. And we’re seeing strong growth each year, especially as the event is more of a celebration – not just of netball, but of culture and community.”
The Gala Days are a critical step in strengthening Indigenous representation in the netball pathway and provide an opportunity to identify players, coaches and umpires who may be invited to attend the First Nations Emerging Talent Camp.
Participants are encouraged to register early to secure their place. Team registrations are open now: (insert link)
