In one of the most challenging years in the history of our game, we are delighted to announce that netball is very well represented in the finalists for the 2020 NSW Community Sports Awards.
While the Covid-19 Pandemic has had a huge impact on all aspects of Australian life, it hasn't stopped the amazing NSW netball community from coming together to ensure the sport comes out on the other side of the greatest challenge it's faced in a generation.
The NSW Community Sports Awards, which are run by Sport NSW, recognise the outstanding achievements and contributions of volunteer workforces without whom local sport would not exist.
Nominations were sought across ten categories, with over 200 nominations submitted, recognising community coaches, officials, administrators and organisations for their achievements and contributions over the past year.
Netball NSW is delighted to announce that Ronda Kimble OAM will be a recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Long Service Award in 2020. This is for those who have given exceptional service to a sport for over 25 years.
The winners of the Awards will be revealed later this year, however, due to the ongoing impact of coronavirus and uncertainty of the continually changing health environment, details of the event are yet to be confirmed.
Further information will be provided to Sport NSW Members, finalists and the public as soon as possible. The Distinguished Long Service Awards will also be presented at the event.
Netball NSW would like to congratulate all finalists and wish them the best of luck.
