Netball NSW has joined forces with leading maths and English tutoring provider NumberWorks’nWords to support the growth of its After School Netball program, helping more children discover the benefits of sport, learning and confidence beyond the classroom.
As a partner of the After School Netball program, NumberWorks’nWords will support a program that gives primary school students the opportunity to learn and enjoy netball in a fun, inclusive environment at their own school.
Delivered over five weeks, After School Netball introduces children to the fundamentals of netball while helping them develop coordination, teamwork, strength, confidence and social connection.
The partnership brings together two organisations that share a commitment to helping young people build skills, confidence and a sense of achievement, both on the court and in the classroom.
Netball NSW Executive General Manager Community, Trish Crews, said the partnership was a natural fit.
“We know that sport plays an important role in helping young people build confidence, make friends and develop skills that stay with them well beyond the playing court.
“NumberWorks’nWords shares that commitment to helping children feel confident, supported and capable, so we’re really excited to bring our two organisations together through After School Netball.
“For many children, an after-school program can be the moment they discover something they love. We want to make it as easy as possible for more kids to experience the fun and benefits of netball.”
NumberWorks’nWords provides personalised maths and English tuition for students aged 5–16, with programs designed to meet each child at their individual level, strengthen academic skills and build confidence.
NumberWorks’nWords State Manager, Tinara Eagles, said the partnership reflected the organisation’s belief in supporting children both academically and personally.
“We’re delighted to partner with Netball NSW and support a program that gives children the opportunity to learn, move, connect and have fun after school.
“Whether it’s developing confidence in maths and English or learning a new skill on the netball court, we believe children thrive when they’re encouraged to challenge themselves, celebrate their progress and enjoy the experience along the way.”
The After School Netball program is aimed primarily at primary school students, with no previous netball experience required. Programs are delivered at participating schools and cater for children of all experience levels and abilities.
Through the partnership, Netball NSW and NumberWorks’nWords will work together to connect more children and families with opportunities that encourage participation, confidence, learning and personal development.
