Netball NSW (NNSW) is excited to extend its partnership with SEDA Group (SEDA) and introduce the NNSW Sport & Business Program, powered by SEDA.
Applications are now open for the tertiary-level program, with the first intake of students in February 2025.
The NNSW Sport & Business Program, powered by SEDA will offer a unique opportunity for young adults to learn from industry experts. The one-year, dual diploma program is designed to equip students with skills, networks, and knowledge to set them up for success in a range of career paths.
The program will allow students to:
• Take part in NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball game day and NNSW community experiences.
• Work on real-time projects aligned with the strategic objectives of NNSW.
• Hear from guest speakers and key NNSW, NSW Swifts, and GIANTS Netball personnel.
• Access industry-leading facilities and resources.
• Immerse themselves in a professional sporting environment to develop insights into current and future career opportunities.
• Upon successful completion, have access to educational pathways through a wide variety of providers and courses nationally, the vast majority with credits or advanced standing*.
• Dual qualifications comprising SIS50321 Diploma of Sport and BSB50120 Diploma of Business.
Upon successful completion, students will have the opportunity to move into further study with one of SEDA’s higher education partners, or transition into the workforce, equipped with the knowledge and attributes for a successful future.
“Netball NSW is proud to be partnering with SEDA to be providing an educational pathway within the netball community. We will be providing real time and innovative experiences for those students who are looking for a career in sport” said Netball NSW CEO Tracey Scott.
“With touch points across community, pathways and both NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball this will be a truly immersive experience for the students.”
Nick Hannett, CEO of SEDA Group, said that Netball NSW had proven its commitment to supporting positive education outcomes for young people.
“2025 will mark ten years of partnership between SEDA Group and Netball NSW and we’re thrilled that we will celebrate that milestone with the introduction of the NNSW Sport & Business Program.”
“We are excited to see NNSW build on its already significant impact to young careers with this entry into the tertiary space.”
Applications are now open for the first intake of the new program in February 2025. Prospective students require Year 12 completion (or equivalent) and to complete a pre-enrolment process prior to enrolling.
