Netball NSW Hall of Fame Inductee 2005
One of the greatest goalkeepers and goal defence players in the history of Australian netball, Keeley made her debut in the Australian Open Team in 1985 at the World Games in London. For over 10 years, she provided the defensive backbone of both the Australian and NSW teams with her tight circle defence, timing and uncanny ability to draw in rebounds.
Competing in World championships, Commonwealth Games and numerous National Netball Championships, the highlight of Keeley’s career was representing Australia in the 1991 World Championships in Sydney when Australia won the world title by just one goal in the final seconds of the game against the Silver Ferns.
Keeley was also an integral member of the NSW Open team, vice captaining the team to seven of its eight consecutive National Championship victories between 1987–1995. She also represented Randwick in the State League competition and the Sydney Electricity team who won the National Mobile League competition in 1996.
Upon her retirement from netball in 1996, Keeley boasted an incredible 69 test caps, cementing her as one of New South Wales and Australian’s most outstanding netballers.
In 1991, Keeley was awarded an Order of Australia Medal following Australia’s World Title triumph. Keeley’s outstanding achievements were further recognised in 2005, when she was inducted into the NSW Hall of Champions. Keeley has enjoyed a successful career in the media working for Fox Sports and Channel Nine.
