Inducted into the Netball NSW Hall of Fame in 2022, Lynn Quinn OAM is a true netball pioneer and a master of her trade.
For many decades she has tirelessly dedicated herself to the sport in all manner of areas and always been a very strong advocate for players and prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that competitions and championships, in particular, are of the highest calibre in terms of organisation and preparedness.
Lynn’s obvious skill and expertise was recognized not only by Netball Australia but also by the International Federation of Netball Associations (now World Netball).
In her long time in netball, Lynn has proven herself to be an innovator in terms of improving the professionalism of bench officials through enhancements in the scoresheets, and the gathering of statistics.
Her impact is also clearly seen in the development of the umpiring timing devices, in which Lynn played an instrumental part. Those very devices are used in elite competition today.
A former director of Netball NSW, Lynn has also given countless hours of her time to the Sefton Netball Club and Fairfield City Netball Association over the years 1972 through to 2006.
At the Netball NSW State Dinner each year the Lynn Quinn Bench Official of the Year Award is presented in her honour.
