A Netball NSW Hall of Fame Inductee in 2004 and a member of the Australian Netball Team from 1986 until 1994, Sue Kenny OAM was Vice-Captain from 1989 until 1994.
Sue represented Australia in the winning team at the Commonwealth Games in 1990 where netball was a demonstration sport. In 1991 Sue was a member of the World Championship team that defeated New Zealand by a solitary goal.
For 12 years from 1985 until 1996 Sue was a member of the NSW Netball team and for seven of those was State team Captain. Sue remains the most capped NSW Captain in history and over this period of leadership the NSW team won the National Championships for eight years in succession.
Sue’s uncanny ability to read the games and create attacking opportunities earned her the on court nickname of “The General”.
In recognition of her outstanding netball abilities and achievements in 1991 Sue was awarded the Order of Australia and in 2001 was inducted into the NSW Hall of Champions.
