As a founding Netball NSW Premier League licensee, the ERNA Hawks have established themselves as a consistent and respected presence within the competition, combining on-court performance with a strong commitment to their local community. Representing Eastwood Ryde, the Hawks continue to play an important role in the strength and depth of netball across the state.
The club has a proud history of supporting athletes to reach the highest levels of the game, with alumni including GIANTS shooter Sophie Dwyer and Vixens star Kiera Austin, while former Hawk Sophie Craig was a member of the NSW Swifts’ 2019 premiership-winning team.
In 2026, the Hawks once again field a competitive squad featuring athletes actively involved in Netball NSW and national high-performance environments. Jessica Conlan and Freddie Schneideman are NSW Swifts training partners and members of the Swifts Academy, alongside Sophia Martinussen and Paige O’Neill. Ellie Hart and Marley Aplin are part of the GIANTS Netball Academy, with Hart, Aplin, O’Neill and Martinussen also selected in the 2026 19U State Team, while Sophie Perrett has been named in the 17U State Team.
These athletes bring valuable experience and exposure to elite pathways, contributing to the overall quality and competitiveness of Premier League. They also play an important role in fostering strong connections between the high-performance and community levels of the game, regularly engaging with younger athletes through development programs and club initiatives.
The Hawks further benefit from international experience, with captain Hannah Grant representing the Scottish Thistles, adding leadership and a global perspective to the squad.
Since the competition’s inception, the Hawks have consistently featured among Premier League’s leading teams:
2018 – Opens Minor Premiers and Silver Medalists
2019 – Opens Premier League Champions
2020 – Opens Silver Medalists
2022 – Opens Third Place, 23U equal Third
2024 – Both Opens and 23U teams reached the finals series
A key strength of the ERNA Hawks program is its commitment to a clear and accessible participation pathway, supporting athletes from junior levels through to Premier League competition. Initiatives such as Junior Hawks clinics (ages 8–10) and the Hawks Spring Program (ages 14–16) provide valuable development opportunities while strengthening engagement across the netball community.
As the 2026 season approaches, the ERNA Hawks remain well positioned to contribute to a strong and competitive Netball NSW Premier League, underpinned by experienced athletes, emerging talent and an ongoing commitment to community connection.
