Netball NSW was deeply saddened to receive reports of an alleged anti-Semitic incident that occurred at Randwick Netball Association on Saturday.
Everyone in our netball community deserves to feel safe, welcome and respected. Anti-Semitism and discrimination of any kind have absolutely no place in our game and will not be tolerated. Sport should bring people together, and we will continue working with our community to ensure netball remains a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone.
Our immediate focus is supporting those impacted, particularly members of the Maccabi Netball Club and the broader Jewish Community.
We commend Randwick Netball Association and Saints Netball Club for their swift response, including contacting police, engaging directly with those affected and strongly condemning anti-Semitic behaviour.
The individual alleged to have made the comments has been provisionally suspended from attending or participating in any netball activities or attending netball locations while the matter is investigated.
Netball NSW is continuing to work closely with Randwick Netball Association under Netball Australia’s Integrity Policy Framework and will assist NSW Police with any investigation.
Further updates will be provided as appropriate.
